Sponsorship
We welcome corporate sponsorship from the business community to further the goals of the Kaipupu Sanctuary
Key Values & Guiding Principles
Partnership
The key partnerships for our society include the crown (Department of Conservation), corporate (Port Marlborough) and the community (Marlborough and wider New Zealand). Through security in these partnerships and working towards a common goal, we demonstrate a winning combination between three diverse parties with the society binding them all together.

Conservation
Pest eradication will ensure the forest and native bird life will flourish and benefit the flora and fauna already present. This will also provide opportunity for the introduction of other wildlife species, increasing the value for public enjoyment. The restoration of the ecosystem and habitat on Kaipupu Point will enhance the cultural and conservation values of flora and fauna thereby enriching the experience for visitors to the region.
Kaitiakitanga
As guardians of Kaipupu Point, we take our role seriously as we work towards the restoration of an indigenous Marlborough Sounds wildlife sanctuary keeping at the forefront our obligations to iwi and our key stakeholders.
Community Enrichment
Kaipupu Point will benefit our local schools and provides a living experience to develop awareness and a sense of commitment to the protection and preservation of our environment. The sanctuary will provides a motivational and learning experience for students outside of the classroom environment with potential to develop an understanding and appreciation of the unique characteristics of different species of flora and fauna - right on Marlborough’s back doorstep.

Opportunities for Partnership
The New Zealand native forest is probably the closest living example of the type of forest that would have covered the super-continent of Gondwana about 80 million years ago. Our native forests need to be protected and restored and they are unique in the world to this place.
